We all love to talk about what we are going to do.
We have lot’s of plans about what we are going to do differently this year and we like to share them with others.
The problem is talking about what we are going to do is way easier than actually doing it.
But, when we talk to people about what we are going to do it gives us the same gratification as if we have completed the task itself.
So, when we are talking to people about how we are going to start training at the gym this week, going to eat better and really focus on our health, they give us praise which makes us feel good.
For most that feeling is what we are really after validation from our peer group.
But you don’t get the results from what you say you are going to do, you get the results from the work you put in.
Do the work first then talk to everyone about how you have done it.
Don’t hijack yourself by talking too much and not putting in the work.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
“The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.”
– Confucius
So are you still talking or are you going to take some action?
Stay Ready Team,
