We all love going on holiday and seeing the world, but it is not very often we would go to a new country or city and try and find a place without using google maps. That would be crazy, we could get lost or it would take us forever if we were lucky enough to stumble across where we were trying to get to.

This is why it is so surprising that so many of us don’t have a plan for achieving our goals.

If we just leave it to chance we 99% of the time we are never going to achieve our goals, if this was our holiday time that we were burning by traveling around aimlessly we would be extremely disappointed that we are using up our precious holiday time.

However, we seem content in just burning the small amount of time we get in this one life!

That is why we need a roadmap to help us achieve the things we want out of life. So why don’t we have them?

Here are the 2 of the most used excuses why we just don’t set goals:

One: “I don’t really know what I want.”

This is one of the harder ones to figure out, but all that means is it will take some work to get there.

When we decide that we are going to go on holiday how do we decide where we are going to go? There are 195 Countries and 4,416 cities in the world (*that have a population of over 150,000)

So we get to work figuring out what we want, what we don’t want, what’s important and what’s not, but we put in the work to figure it out. So, if we would do that for our holiday, which is such a small part of our life, why will we not do it for our life?

Two: “I don’t know how to do it.”

Just like anything that we don’t how to do there are options of how to overcome this. If we stay with our holiday analogy what do we do? We get on Google and figure it out.

Step by step, bit by bit we figure it out. So, why then do we just leave it in the too hard basket when it comes to life?

No more! Now is the time to take action. Get to work and get an answer for each of these excuses and start creating the life you truly want to live.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. “

– Confucius

So think about it, how are you going to plan your goals out and get them done? (or our holidays haha)
