We all like to do things that we are good at, it makes us feel good knowing that we are good at them but do this limit us from trying things that we may fail at?
The fact is that we care about how other people see us! Plain and simple and this is what I know to be the thing that holds us back the most. It is not the fact that we fail at something it is what we think people think of us that stops us.
Now think about that for a minute…
Let’s break that down what WE think people think of us. I have said before and I am going to say what people think of us is none of our business, the only thing that matters is what we think of ourselves.
What we think of ourselves is where our focus should lie, but most people have never stopped to think about what type of person they want to be. Now you think about it, if I asked you the question “what is important to you?” could you give me the answer, have you ever thought about it before? Or is it something so important to you that it rolls off your tongue like it was just a normal conversation. Most people that I speak to have never taken the time to understand what are their non-negotiables when it comes to their focus.
If you want to achieve success you need to have a relentless drive to achieve it. This means understanding what it is that you really want and why is it so important to you.
Once you have that then you will do everything you can to achieve it and what other people are saying about you or saying to you will not matter. Remember we are only asking people for feedback not permission when it comes to our goals and focus.
So, from here take the time to figure out what you really want and why you want this so bad.
Do not limit yourself before you have even started, so don’t say “I could never do that” or “I just don’t think I am smart enough, strong enough, fit enough, brave enough or anything enough” take off the self-limiting blinders that you are wearing and open your eyes to a world of endless possibilities of greatness that you could be living.
Just a question that I wanted to ask you anyway…
What would you do if you could not fail?
